Step right up
Something every library needs, even if it’s an aspiring library in a living room, is a ladder. Or in this case, a vintage step ladder that has given innumerable people access to a book on the top shelf.
Rocky Rios first laid eyes on his antique step ladder at an auction. The little piece of history intrigued him enough to purchase it, even though he had no intention of using it in an at-home library.
“It looked cool, and it was in good shape,” Rios said, “I’m not exactly sure how old it is, but it was interesting so I bought it.”
He used it primarily as a stepping stool to reach higher up items in his house, but Rios admits that it’s something that is more likely to be found in an old timey library.
At around three and a half feet tall, the step ladder is ever the temptation to Rios’ little ones to climb. The ladder being the particular favorite to his one-and-a-half-year-old, there was worry over a potential fall. This is why he’s finally decided to part with it by selling it through The Greensheet, which has always made selling items easier for him.
Instead of a mini jungle gym, he’s hoping the vintage step ladder can be better utilized in the way it was created to be.
