Valentine Activities for Singles

Don’t have a significant other this year to spend Valentine’s Day with? No Problem! Here are some things you can do by yourself or with your friends this Valentine’s day to get you out of the house and celebrating love and friendship.

Host a Dinner Party

One of the most popular things that couples do on Valentine’s day is going out to a restaurant for a nice meal and intimate time. However, if you are single, don’t make the mistake of going out to and doing the same. Not only will the wait times be long, but the food and service will be slow as well. Instead of going to a traditional restaurant, plan out a girls night in and order some pizza. If you are feeling inspired, host an intimate dinner party with some of your closest friends and family that also have no plans and are single on Valentine’s Day. Treat them to a nice night with some wine, sweets and a home-cooked meal. You will be in the comfort of your own home and not in some loud crowded restaurant. Not only will you save time and money, but you will spend quality time catching up with your friends. Never hosted a dinner party before? Go to the Movies

If you can’t remember the last time you went to the movies, chances are it’s time to go back! Take your friends or family out to go see a movie! With movies out in all genres; from children’s movies to comedies and romance, it is easy to cater to any preferences and tastes. Not only will you be able to watch a movie, but there are also snacks and popcorn that you can enjoy as well. Some theatres even have bowling and for those over 21, a bar. Grab a drink or two before or during the movie and incorporate a girls night out into your movie outing. Don’t worry if you can’t decide on what movie to watch, take it as an opportunity to plan a future date with your friends. The most important thing is that you are going out and enjoying each others company, so sit back and relax. Enjoy the movie!

Go out and Get Some Drinks

Even though Valentines Day falls on a Wednesday this year and you have to work the next day, consider going out for an early night out. Hit one of the bars that you have been thinking about going, or to that one spot that you absolutely love but haven’t been able to take some time and go. If your friends or family don’t have plans, invite them out as well! If you don’t want to leave the house, buy the ingredients to make your favorite drinks and have a night in. Encourage the people that are coming over to do the same, so everyone is able to try different cocktails.

Attend an Event

You might not have plans on Valentine’s Day and trust me you are not alone! There are thousands of singles in your area that may want to go out for the night as well, and people know this. That’s why there are various Valentine Days events that are hosted for singles as well. With just a simple google search you are able to find some of these “Anti Valentine’s Day” events in your area. There’s bound to be an event that catches your interest and if you don’t want to attend the event by yourself, consider inviting your single friends that you know are just itching for a night out.
