Top-Five Don’t Miss Items of The Rodeo

Here is our list of don’t miss of the Rodeo, in no particular order!


Mutton Bustin’ in The Junction

One of the most popular places at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ is mutton bustin’ in The Junction. Stop by to watch little cowboys and cowgirls grit their teeth and hang on tight to the back of a sheep as they try to beat the eight-second whistle.

Mutton bustin’ in the Junction starts every hour beginning at 11 a.m., with the last round competing at 7 p.m. Cost to participate is $15 and children must be 5 or 6 years old and cannot weigh more than 55 pounds.


Championship Wine Garden

If you’re over 21 and looking for a fun place to relax during the Show, stop by the Championship Wine Garden located in Carruth Plaza. Listen to live music while sampling select wines from the award-winning entries in the 2017 Rodeo Uncorked! International Wine Competition.

The Wine Garden is open daily Monday to Thursday, 4 to 11 p.m., Friday, 4 p.m. to midnight, Saturday, 11 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday, noon to 10 p.m. Live music begins at 6:30 p.m. during the week and 1 p.m. during the weekend.

Birthing Center in AGventure

The Birthing Center in AGventure is an educational exhibit designed for both parents and children to enjoy. Watch as baby calves, piglets and lambs wobble, jump and learn how to navigate the new world around them.

Admission is free with the purchase of an NRG Park admission ticket. The Birthing Center exhibit is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and is located in NRG Center in Hall B.


Social Station in Hall D

Grab your friends and head over to the Social Station located in Hall D to take your picture in the Show’s very own photo booth. Share your photos directly to social media using #RODEOHOUSTON.

While you’re there, enter to win prizes and grab a complimentary koozie or neon-colored sunglasses. Don’t forget to follow @RODEOHOUSTON on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube to be the first to learn about merchandise and ticket giveaways during the Show.
