SPCA of Texas’ Pets of the Week for Adoption
Male, 2-year-old Pit Bull mix
Meet Scarlet, a 40-pound Pit Bull mix. She got her name because of her beautiful reddish tan coat. She also has the most amazing hazel eyes. An Animal Cruelty Investigator brought her to the SPCA of Texas on April 14 due to a cruelty complaint. Even though she’s had a bit of a rough past, you would never know it by her extremely friendly and loving demeanor.
She gets so excited when someone comes to her kennel to see her that her entire body wags! She’s very affectionate and will try to climb up in your lap and give you kisses (LOTS of kisses)! She really enjoys treats, and when you give them to her, she’ll take them very gently from your hand – she’s a polite girl! While at the shelter, she’s been learning loose leash walking skills, and she’s getting better every day. She loves soft beds, being petted and scratched and of course frozen Kongs. Do you currently have any dogs at home? If so, you can bring them by the shelter for a meet and greet with her.
She is heartworm positive, but the good news is that her treatment was paid for by generous donors and is FREE for you! Scarlet has been spayed, microchipped and has received all age-appropriate vaccinations. She really is looking forward to finding a family who will love her forever. She’s such a sweet girl, and she doesn’t think you’ll be able to resist her or her precious face! So what do you say? Will you come by for a visit? She sure hopes to see you soon!
Female, 1-year-old, Domestic Shorthair mix
Meet Lacey Love, a cute baby girl with a beautiful symmetrical face and round, yellow eyes. She weighs 8 pounds. She’s a Domestic Shorthair mix grey tabby with the distinctive tabby “M“ on her forehead.
On March 24, she was transferred to the SPCA of Texas from another agency. She’s here to find my new home and family! Could that be you? She sure hops so! When she first arrived, she was very shy but is becoming used to all the different noises here.
She will melt your heart with her love! She has been spayed, tested for FIV/FeLV (she’s negative), microchipped and has received age-appropriate vaccinations. She will do best in a home without small children. Please come by today; ask for Lacey Love and you can get acquainted. You’ll be best friends!
