SPCA of Texas’ Pets of the Week for Adoption

Female, 5-year-old, Shepherd mix

Meet China, a black and tan Shepherd mix weighing 43-pounds. She is super sweet, gentle and just a bit bashful. She was surrendered to the SPCA of Texas on March 30 because her previous owner was moving and could not take her with them. The shelter has been a little scary to her, but thankfully all the people here are very nice and have made her comfortable. At her previous home, she was outside all the time, so being indoors is new to her.

She’s loving the big, comfy bed she gets to sleep on now, that’s for sure! She’s a little shy when she meets new people, but once she gets to know you, she will just melt with affection. She enjoys being petted, especially on her belly, and will roll over on her back to let you get all the right places! She loves playing with toys and playing outside – fetch is one of her favorite games! She’s even learning some tricks, too, and has already mastered sitting on command. She’s a lovable lady who would make a great addition to your family.

China has been spayed, microchipped and has received all age-appropriate vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $125, so come on out and see her today! You’ll be best friends, she knows it!

Female, 10-year-old, Domestic Longhair mix

Meet Mariah, a black Domestic Longhair mix with cattitude. That’s right, she’s quite the fancy looking gal, but don’t let that fool you – she’s actually a total sweetheart!

She was surrendered to the SPCA of Texas on April 4 because the other animals in her home didn’t like her. It’s hard to believe, but she doesn’t let that get her down. She knows the perfect family is out there looking for her right now! She is very friendly and loves to be petted. She’ll even rub her head against you in return! She can be a little sassy sometimes, but once you talk to her sweetly, she’ll roll over and beg for your attention.

She likes playing with small toys too, although she won’t work too hard for them – she’d rather just bat at them from her bed. She is a housecat, after all! She can be picky about her feline friends, so she may do best as an only cat.

Mariah has been spayed, microchipped and has received all age-appropriate vaccinations. Her adoption fee is only $50, so please come visit her today!
