Bastrop

Head to the Hill Country and find this hidden gem located just 30 minutes outside of Austin. The city of Bastrop is a beautiful sight to see with plenty to do. Enjoy a variety of outdoor activities from hiking and biking in the McKinney Roughs Nature Park, to tubing in the lower Colorado River just down the road in Bastrop. Big Bend National Park

Bring your camping gear if you want to experience the ultimate road trip and bask in the purity that is nature, because Big Bend National Park is a must for adventure seekers! This national park is located in southwest Texas and spans to about 1,252 mi so there’s plenty of land to discover. Pack plenty of water and sunscreen to embark on an adventurous day hike or dress to get soaked by kayaking in the Rio Grande! There are also plenty of scenic drives to travel on, as well as various bike routes. Before you call it a night, don’t forget to look up and experience the multitude of stars as they light up the sky. Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi is well known for its beautiful aquatic sights and as the birthplace of the late Latin singer, Selena Quintanilla. However, there is so much more to do and see in Corpus Christi. Experience one of the multiple wine/brewery tours that are offered, enjoying Texas wine and beer from over 30 different organizations surrounding the town. Too many choices and don’t know where to go for a quick weekend getaway? Then head to Galveston and enjoy the various attractions that the city has to offer. From Pleasure Pier to Moody Gardens, there is an activity for anyone of any age in Galveston. Park your car along the seawall for some local fun, visit some historical museums, try embarking on a ghost tour, or just grab a few drinks at the local pub. Can’t decide on what to do? In the mood for some tubing fun? Then grab your floats and head to New Braunfels where you can enjoy recreational activities along the Comal and Guadalupe Rivers! If you’re feeling extra adventurous, try going on a tour through the Natural Bridge Caverns, the largest known commercial caverns in Texas! South Padre Island

Head down south and visit South Padre Island for some fun in the sun with beautiful clear blue waters! With so many activities available to the public it’s hard to choose which one to do first! You can try kayaking, parasailing, dolphin watching, and even scuba diving. One of the more interesting attractions of South Padre Island is the Sea Turtle Inc., an organization that rescues and rehabilitates injured sea turtles in the ocean. They are available for the public to come view and learn more about their cause, so drive on by and have fun with some sea turtles!
